The glove comes with a heat protective insert. Put on your hand and slide in to the glove and grip and carry pots and pans with temperatures over 200 degrees for several minutes. The glove is extra-long and covers your lower arm up to the elm bow. You are well protected against burns. The thumb is placed so the glove fits both right and left hand.
